How to make Plain Paratha on tawa

My husband  likes to do breakfast at home before leaving for work, so its imperative that I need some recipe that i can cook fast. Since he has to leave early in the morning to catch his bus, rarely does he have time for proper breakfast. Though he doesn't mind having corn-flakes, but not everyday. He doesn't like sandwich breads, its the Prathas which gets his vote eventually. From my point of view, plain parathas with Mango pickle or Curd (with sugar) or butter are my favorites, simply because they are really easy and fast to cook and serve especially in the breakfast.

Parathas, if don't know already, are kind of national breakfast in India.

It has hundreds of variations and there is no real limit to how many kinds of parathas can be made. Each kind of stuffing like aaloo masala for aaloo paratha, and amount of heating/cooking/ghee on Tawa used for making it crisp, creates its own taste and aroma.

Really, they are as easy to cook as it sounds from here.
You just need these ingredients
  1. 1 cup flour
  2. 1/2 cup water
  3. 2 spoon cooking oil
Yes, that's it. Only these three ingredients are required. You also need a tawa and a spatula, for using it in cooking. And off course you need a chakla (flat circular rolling board) and belan (rolling pin) for making a pratha.

Follow these steps to make a plain paratha
  1. Knead the flour by adding water into it, making it a soft dough.
  2. Divide it into 4-5 portions and make balls of it.
  3. Press the ball shape dough into the shape of a bowl. Apply some oil on the surface, and fold it so that edges are sealed so that no edges comes out.
  4. Flatten it again using the belan into approx 6-7 inch diameter, and put it on tawa.
  5. Apply little oil on it, and when the other side is heated till turns golden, and then do the same on other side of paratha.
If you want you can add some flavor into it by adding some salt (along with some oil) in step 3.

Hope you have enjoyed this simplest of recipe which reduce your breakfast preparation time to just 10-15 minutes.

Cheers, Ripu

As the name suggests, this one is not only sweet but also is cheesy, since it has cheese in it. I hate cheese myself because it has a lot of fat, and I am one of those health conscious ones', but its my husband's one of the favorite dishes. Its really easy to cook, and it only requires easily available ingredients.

Ingredients
You need the following ingredients
  1. 2 Eggs
  2. 250gms Cheese
  3. 2 spoon Sugar
  4. 1 tea-spoon refined oil
You see, number of ingredients are only 4. Moreover, all you need is one Karahi (Deep cooking pot) along with Spatula to cook it.

Instructions to prepare
Follow these instructions
  1. Pour one tea-spoon oil in Karahi and heat the same for a minute.
  2. Put 250 grams cheese in it and heat the same on gas stove (on low-medium flame) for 1 minute.
  3. Add 2 spoon sugar in it and heat the mixture for 1-2 minutes (on low-medium flame) until sugar has completely dissolved into it.
  4. Now finally beat the 2 eggs and add them to the mixture. Now fry this mixture for 5 minutes with Spatula until everything gets dried up.
